Recently Sold - Victorian 9K Gold Engraved Heart Locket. This wonderful back & front locket is crafted from 9K and some metal parts for strength and durability (a characteristic of Victorian and Edwardian lockets), hallmarked. Featuring exquisite detail, Victorian styling and quality gold-work. With lovely embossed fancy scroll designs to both the face and reverse. There was much symbolism contained within lockets of this era. The fancy scroll Fluer-de-lis which symbolized flame, passion, ardour, mother. The blank shield symbolized protection of your love & loved ones. The locket rich mellow yellow finish, and opens and closes well. The scroll at the top of the locket adds beauty and elegance, the bale is simple and solid, strong enough for suspending the large locket. The locket has been matched up to a 14K gold filled chain, which looks perfect with the pendant. The inside of the locket is complete with its brass frames, plastic liners and purple silk fabric inserts. It opens and closes well. This Victorian era locket is a very special piece to be cherished and enjoyed for many years to come.
