Helen Of Troys Treasure - Art Deco Etruscan Revival 14K Gold Moonstone & Pearl Ring .  This amazing ring is hand-crafted from 14K gold, hallmarked with a faint 14K stamp. Featuring an antique Etruscan Revival design, a natural Ceylon Cabochon moonstone, 23 natural seed pearls, and quality workmanship.  This goeorgots work of art looks like something out of Helen Of Troy's Treasure Chest. The Old work Etruscan -styled gold-work is thick and hand -wrought. This is not a cast ring, but one all crafted by hand.  The stunning blue moonstone fires blue and yellow colour from its depths, and is surrounded by a wired seed-pearl surround (a characteristic of ancient jewels). Surrounding the beautiful cluster is a bead and scroll open-worked decoration. The split double shoulders addd even more character and beauty to the ring, which leads to a plain and polished band,  allowing for a comfortable fit. This Antique Etruscan Revival ring has an ancient look, like something dug up from the ruins of Pompeii.  A true beauty!

Many nineteenth-century jewelers, the most famous being the House of Castellani, were inspired to create their own versions of these ancient pieces, hence “Etruscan Revival.” Characteristics of Etruscan style jewelry include use of high karat gold and semi-precious stones like lapis, malachite and agates.

The Etruscan civilization flourished in central Italy between the 8th and 3rd century BCE. The culture was renowned in antiquity for its rich mineral resources and as a major Mediterranean trading power. Much of its culture and even history was either obliterated or assimilated into that of its conqueror, Rome.

In Greek mythology, Helen of Troy, Helen, Helena, also known as beautiful Helen , Helen of ... The Etruscans, who had a sophisticated knowledge of Greek mythology, demonstrated a particular interest in the theme of the delivery of Helen Of Troy's History.

Its story begins in ancient Rome, where it was believed moonstone was formed from solidified beams of moonlight. They also held that the Roman goddess Diana, goddess of the moon, could be seen within the stone, and that it would bestow love, wisdom and good fortune upon those who possessed it.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Contemporary appraisals do not reflect the antiquity value of this piece. Value is based on desirability, uniqueness, hand-crafted workmanship, and gemstones. Antique jewelry is object driven.  Completely hand- crafted, this piece is very special.
