Jewel Of The Amazon - Art Deco Sterling Silver Amazonite & Marcasite Necklace. This stunning necklace is crafted from sterling Silver, hallmarked STERLING. Featuring four natural genuine oval cut cabochon amazonite gemstones, rose cut marcasites, Art Deco styling, and quality silver-work. The gemstones in this necklace display the most beautiful green turquoise colour. The colour is a combination of a jade and turquoise colour. Each gem is expertly claw-set and surrounded by a frame of silver adorned by hand set marcasite. There is a delicate marquise shaped silver segment in-between each setting, which is also set with sparkling rose-cut marcasite. The chain is original, however there has been an extension added to the necklace so the necklace can be worn at your desired length. The clasp also appears to be original, a spring ring design in perfect working order. This Art Deco era necklace is so gorgeous, full of sparkle and showcasing beautiful natural gems as intriguing as the amazon. This necklace is highly collectible, truly a wonderful piece to be treasured and enjoyed for many years to come.
Note: Amazonite was named in 1847 by Johann Friedrich August Breithaupt for an unspecified type locality by the Amazon River.
