Infinity Knot - Vintage 14K Italian Tri Gold Love Knot Earrings. These gorgeous earrings are crafted from 14K Tri gold, hallmarked on the post 585, and on the back of the earring 585, Italy. Featuring classic vintage styling, and high quality craftsmanship. These earrings are made in the form of an infinity knot, otherwise known as a love knot. There are three tubular segments, which are beautifully crafted in 3 colors of gold, one being a textured glittery yellow gold finish, the second one is a polished rose gold finish, and the third is twisted white gold finish. This combination of different colors of gold and textures gives these earrings character, detail, beauty, and quite frankly it takes these earrings to another level. The earrings feature posts for pierced ears, and high end clip closures, which gives the earrings additional security. These fantastic Italian crafted vintage earrings are elegant and so versatile. Truly a wonderful addition to any fine jewelry collection.
Note: Appraisal included with the earrings.
Comments: These are substantial in size, and so wonderful. Remarkable condition, and Italian made. Italian made jewelry is hand-finished for, which allows for a high quality product.
Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
Rose gold was first used in early 19th century Russia by the famed jeweler Carl Faberge in his famous Faberge Eggs, as was known as Russian Gold. Rose gold later gained popularity in the United States during the lavish and feminine 1920's, and was worn in engagement rings and fine jewelry.
The origin of white gold can be traced back to the early 19th century, when jewelers were looking for a more affordable alternative to platinum. Since then, various alloys have been developed, resulting in the creation of white gold as we know it today.
