Marquise Delight - Estate 10K White Gold Sapphire Diamond Ring.  This elegant ring is crafted from 10K white gold, hallmarked 10K, and a makers mark CRP. Featuring one marquise shaped faceted sapphire (synthetic), four tapered baguette shaped sapphires (synthetic), 2 natural round cut diamonds, classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring showcases a deep blue central sapphire, which is adorned by sparkling diamonds and four accent blue sapphires. The shoulders and shank are smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. This estate ring looks lovely when worn... just delightful!

History: When were synthetic sapphires first made? The first synthetic sapphire was successfully made in 1873 by the flux method. This was followed shortly by the flame fusion method in 1902. Needless to say, at the turn of the century synthetic gemstones were quickly rising in popularity.

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Although the origin of white color gold dates back to 1710, where it was discovered by two alchemists in Germany, it wasn't used widely until much later. White gold as we know it today was really popularised in the 1920s. Although it might seem strange, this luxury material came to popularity in wartime.
