Medieval 15th-17th century bronze cross. This beautiful cross is crafted from bronze, featuring superb detail and workmanship. The cross features a raised central cross that still has much of it's gold gilt, surrounded by ancient writing and detail. The back of the piece is equally as beautiful, with its engraved decoration. The pendant and bail are solid and strong, matched up with a contemporary bronze ring, bail and chain. The traces of gold gilt just seem to be in all the right places on this cross, a lovely contrast with the the dark bronze and shines when the light hits the gilt. This wearable artifact is in amazing well preserved condition, found and excavated in a farmers field with a metal detector. Truly a very special gift , or wonderful addition to any jewelry collection.
