Medieval Seal -  Renaissance 17th - 18th Century Bronze Emblem Seal Ring.  This wonderful ring is crafted from bronze. Featuring Renaissance styling, exquisite detailing and quality bronze work.  This fantastic ring boasts a solid bezel with intricate carvings of motifs which form a family seal. The family seals rings were popular in this era so letters could be sealed with wax and only seen by the intended person (s). It has a beautiful  bronze patina, and is great condition for its age.  The ring has a solid polished shank, which allows for a comfortable fit.  The back of the ring is solid, giving the ring more strength and durability.  This amazing ring would make a unique gift or perfect addition to any early collection.

Originating from the Latin word “signum” meaning “sign”, signet rings originated amongst religious leaders and Pharaohs. These rings were used to mark and seal documents by pressing the face which were historically marked with a unique family crest, into hot wax.
