The ring featured one genuine cultured mabé pearl, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is solid, and beautifully textured, which showcases a lustrous white pearl, displaying silvery overtones. The color of the gold is a buttery yellow, which looks rich and beautiful against the pearl. The band is substantial, smooth, and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit, and easy sizing. This vintage ring has an ancient feel, which is classic and oh so elegant. A true beauty!

Note: Appraisal included with the Ring. Appraised at $4400.00 (Tax Excluded)

Pearls were presented as gifts to Chinese royalty as early as 2300 BC, while in ancient Rome, pearl jewellery was considered the ultimate status symbol. So precious were the spherical gems that in the 1st century BC, Julius Caesar passed a law limiting the wearing of pearls only to the ruling classes.

Mabe, also called composite blister pearls, is cultured by inserting a half dome nucleus on the inside of the oyster shell, opposed to a cultured pearl which is growing in the soft parts of the oyster.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
