Art Deco flapper sautoir flower basket beaded necklace. This beautiful glass beaded flapper necklace dates back to the 1920s. These were made in France and often purchased by the soldiers after WW1 as souvenirs. They are made with micro glass beads and completely hand made. Although bead work dates back thousands of years ago, european glass beadwork dates back to the 14th century. This necklace is a wonderful example of the handmade beaded pieces from the flapper era. The design has a lovely flower basket at the centre of the drop with a multi coloured beaded fringe. The flower basket is very indicative of French culture. The necklace is composed of a colour palette of onyx black, ruby red, peridot green, silvery pearl and pink sapphire glass beads. This beautiful necklace can be worn dressy or casual. A lovely necklace to treasure and enjoy.
