Edwardian Circa 1900 Brass Turquoise Paste Choker necklace. This beautiful Edwardian choker (collar) is made of brass and beautiful turquoise paste gems. The brass shows signs of the original gold gild, however this beautiful piece has a lovely aged patina that gives the choker so much character. The turquoise cabochons are set in beautiful engraved bezels, which are joined by brass rings. The clasp is a secure brass clasp, which attaches to chains in the back. This choker is a gorgeous statement piece and looks stunning when worn.
Note: In the middle of the nineteenth century, the Prince of Wales married a Danish Princess, Alexandra. It was said that she has a small scar on her neck which she covered artfully with a choker, which came to be known as "dog collars".
