Vintage 1940s brocade evening bag. This lovely bag is made of Silk brocade, brass, and beautiful pearl and gold beads. Featuring beautiful silk brocade , with a gold , coral and white colour patten. So elegant in design , featuring lovely brass details including a brass chain adorned with bead work on the frame and clasp. The clasp flips open in order to open up the bag , and flips over to close the bag. The interior is lined with a yellow silk and signed " Mappins". This lovely evening bag would be perfect and unique for any special occasion.

Note: Mappins is a fine jewellery shop that opened in 1935 in Canada. Like Birks they use to carry wonderful accessories and gifts from around the world as well as jewellery.

Condition: Excellent Note: A few little pin holes inside the interior , however considering age it is in beautiful condition.

Origin: Most likely made in France for Mappins in Canada
