Vintage 'Metropolitan of Fine Art' sterling silver velvet paste choker & Brooch. This stunning choker is crafted from sterling silver , paste gems and black velvet. Featuring a beautiful sterling silver plaque, hallmarked MMA 925 STERLING, assay for Metropolitan of Fine Art and Sterling silver. The plaque is encrusted with expertly set paste stones in a rectangular frame with a gorgeous centre design that reminds me of trees with frost on them. The plaque is unique in the fact that it is completely removable and can be also worn as a brooch. The black velvet ribbon is in wonderful condition , edged with two silver ends , one with an attached hook and the other with an adjustable chain. This vintage choker is a lovely signed piece that would have been designed to simulate a famous choker probably from an exhibition at the museum. This would make a lovely unique gift or addition to any jewellery collection.
