History: Formed in the deep underground over a million years ago in the Canadian arctic – Glacier Fire is where Canada shines the brightest. Canada has become one of the major diamondgenerating nations to produce some of the worlds most beautiful, ethically sourced diamonds.
Glacier Fire - Internationally Cut These diamonds are mined in Canada, then cut and polished internationally. Resting silently beneath the ice of the Arctic tundra, each Canadian Diamond begins life as an unknown beauty hidden in the rough.
It was not until 1991 that diamonds were officially discovered by non-indigenous people, specifically, by two geologists named Chuck Fipke and Stewart Blusson. This discovery lead to the first diamond mine in the NWT in 1998 called Ekati and initially operated by BHP Billiton.
