Passion- Art Deco Paye & Baker Sterling Silver Amethyst Necklace.  This lovely necklace is crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked on the back of the necklace and also on the clasp.  Featuring 2 genuine oval cabochon amethyst gemstones, exquisite detailing and quality silver-work.  The expertly bezel set amethysts are opaque, displaying a beautiful violet purple colour.  The larger cabochon is surrounded by a silver bezel featuring exquisite engraving. There are chains, which are attached to another bezel amethyst drop.  The chain and clasp (dumbbell) are original to the necklace and in great condition. There are full hallmarks on the back of the larger amethyst for STERLING and the maker Paye & Baker.  This wonderful Art Deco era necklace is highly collectible and so versatile. It can be worn casually or formally, just beautiful! 

Note: Paye & Baker jewelry is very hard to find. The company was founded in  North Attleboro, Massachusetts between 1898 and 1904. By 1935, they were out of business. Their first inventory consisted of sterling silver souvenir spoons then, in the 1920s, they discontinued production of the spoons and concentrated on jewelry production.
