Post Medieval 16th-18th Century bronze enamel ring. This scarce ring is crafted from bronze and enamel. The ring has a bezel set clear glass gem( with a champagne hue) that has a floral design to the glass. The bronze has a rich dark patina and the ring still has much of it's enamel work intact. Most excavated enamel rings lose most of the enamel work, however this ring is rare since there is still so much of it to be seen and admired. The enamel work is done in white and pale blue with black dots. This ring can not be sized . A ring insert is not recommended because one would not want to risk damaging the enamel work. This ring is an amazing find that would make a very special addition to any collection of jewels.
Note: These rings are often found with replacements stones, usually a plain cabochon, however this ring has it's original gemstone. The gem is very fascinating to look at because of the cut and pattern underneath the glass.
