Pretty In Pink - Vintage 14K White Gold Natural Pink Sapphire Stud Earrings. These lovely earrings are crafted from 14K white gold, hallmarked 14K.  Featuring genuine round cut faceted pink sapphires, quality gold work and classic styling.  The expertly claw set sapphires display a beautiful vibrant pink colour, which sparkle and exhibit a wonderful shine. Origin. Pink sapphires have become more available since new deposits were found in Madagascar in the late 1990s. Until that time, pink sapphires were considered exceptionally rare since they were only found in a few locations around the world, the most popular locations being Sri Lanka, Myanmar and East Africa.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

The history of White Gold dates back to 1710, when it was composed by alchemists Johan Frierich Bottger and Ehrenfried Walther Von Tcshirnhaus in Germany. In 1752, another metal resembling White Gold was introduced, with a grey finish. White Gold as we know today was created in 1920's.
