Rare ancient 8th-11th century bronze Viking torc.  This amazing artifact is crafted from bronze, featuring superb hand work and detail. The Torc is designed to be a snake, there is fantastic hand decoration simulating features of a snake, the clasp being the face and tail and the choker as the body of the animal. The snake symbolized fertility in the viking era, so this most likely would have been worn by a young woman because of the size and meaning of the piece. These Torcs are rare, this particular piece in fantastic condition.  Although wearable, it is a small size, this scarce artifact would make a wonderful conversation piece or addition to any serious viking artifact collection.
