The gallery on this ring is dome shaped, and adorned by diamond shaped settings, which are set with sparkling clear white crystals. Each if the settings are interspaced by a decorative bead like frame, which adds detail and beauty to the ring. This vintage ring is adjustable, which can be adjusted to your desired size. This ring has a couture and lavish feel, however, for the fraction of the price.
History: Centuries ago, quartz pebbles with a high lead content were found sparkling on the banks of Europe's Rhine River. These beautiful, natural stones were highly coveted and were eventually depleted, inspiring jewelers to create an imitation, aptly named the "rhinestone."
In England, John Wright and Henry and George Elkington got the first patent for gold and silver electroplating in 1840. The underpinnings of the process were engineered several decades earlier by a chemist from Italy named Luigi Brugnatelli. He was a good buddy of Alessandro Volta, for whom the volt is named.
Luigi Brunatelli, an Italian chemist, is most widely credited for inventing electroplating. Brugnatelli published his findings on the use of Volta piles to deposit a layer of gold onto a metallic surface in 1805.
