Ricordo Della I' Comunione - Vintage 10K Gold First Communion Medallion Pendant. This wonderful pendant is crafted in 10K gold, hallmarked 10K, Italy, and a makers mark. Featuring exquisite detail, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. The beautiful medallion has a lovely circular scalloped shape, with a detailed chased design. The pendant showcases fantastic contrasting textures and finish, which adds definition and character to the piece. The back of the pendant is polished, with raised chased letters, which reads: Ricordo Della I' Comunione, which translates to: Record of the First Communion from Italian to English. The pendant has been matched to a 14K gold fill chain, hallmarked 1/20 14k. The chain looks perfect with the pendant, and features a secure spring ring clasp in perfect working order. Truly a wonderful vintage pendant for that special someone's special day. 

History: Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
