Roses For You - Vintage Porcelain & Glass Beaded Rose Necklace. This necklace is crafted from porcelain, and glass. The necklace features 3 porcelain roses, two porcelain rosebuds, glass beads, and vintage styling. This gorgeous necklace is comprised of 3 beautiful red roses in full bloom, which are interspaced by peridot coloured glass beads, and porcelain red rosebuds. There are also bronze coloured beads that make up the back portion of the necklace. The necklace has been professionally restrung, and given a contemporary secure lobster claw-clasp in perfect working order.  This vintage necklace looks stunning when worn, charming, feminine, and artistic is how I would describe this vintage beauty.

History: Porcelain jewelry has a long history, originating in China during the Tang Dynasty where it was initially used for functional items and later for decorative purposes. It became highly prized in Europe after trade routes introduced it, where it was seen as a symbol of luxury and sophistication. European artisans began producing their own versions during the 18th century, inspired by Chinese designs, leading to a continuous history of porcelain jewelry up to the present day.

Glass beaded jewelry has a long history, originating in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia around 3,500 years ago. Early beads were a product of impurities in the glass, but artisans soon learned to intentionally add minerals to create specific colors. The craft expanded with the Roman Empire, which spread glassmaking throughout its territories. Later, Bohemia (in modern-day Czechoslovakia) became a major global bead producer, a reputation continued by the modern Czech Republic, while Germany also maintained a significant industry.
