Filigree was invented in Ancient times. Archaeological finds in Ancient Mesopotamia indicate that filigree was incorporated into jewelry since 3000 BC.  Specific to the city of Midyat in Mardin Province in upper Mesopotamia, a form of filigree using silver and gold wires, known as "telkari", was developed in the 15th Century.  The Spanish and Portuguese taught the New world this technique, and is used in Mexico and South America today.  The Edwardian and Art Deco period created some of the finest and delicate filigree jewelry from gold and platinum. This particular ring is a lovely example to be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come.

Note: Appraisal included with ring.  Note:  A very rare find. . Most pink diamonds you see on the market are colour treated. This particular diamond has no treatment, it is naturally a fancy pink colour.
