The ring features one natural oval cut faceted aquamarine, 2 natural round single cut diamonds, classic styling, and high quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is set with beautiful dreamy light blue aquamarine, displaying a slightly greenish/blue hue, with good intensity. The central aquamarine is adorned with a sparkling diamond on each side of the blue gemstone, which adds a touch more sparkle to the ring. History: Roman fishermen called the gemstone “water of the sea” and used it as protection, for safe travel by boat, and for luck in catching fish. Aquamarine was linked to the apostle St. Thomas who frequently traveled by boat.

In the language of gemstones, aquamarine represents happiness, hope and everlasting youth. In ancient times, aquamarine was thought to protect those at sea. It was believed to make sailors fearless and safe from adversaries on the open waters.

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Design by Sevan, based in Toronto, Canada, is a premier custom jewellery studio specializing in engagement rings and fine jewelry, founded by a designer with over 30 years of experience in the industry. The company, led by Sevan, has built a reputation for high-quality, handcrafted pieces and personalized, non-pretentious service.

Devan's journey in jewelry began at age 10, later working as an apprentice in Istanbul, learning to set diamonds.

Sevan moved to Canada at age 16 with $250, facing initial hurdles before establishing himself as a skilled jeweller.

After working with other Toronto jewelers and gaining experience, Sevan launched his own business, Design by Sevan, around 2000.

Within a few years, the brand became recognized in the industry, becoming one of the first jewelers to show at Canada's Bridal Show.
