Gold & Glitter - Vintage 10K Gold Channel Set Diamond Band Ring. This lovely ring is crafted from 10K yellow gold hallmarked 10K. Featuring 11 natural round cut diamonds, classic styling, and quality gold-work.  The diamonds in this ring are expertly channel set. The bright clear precious diamonds reflect beautifully from each other, adding sparkle and life to the band. The style of the ring is a half channel set eternity band. This example has diamonds on the top of the ring, and a smooth back which allows for a comfortable fit, and easy sizing. Channel set diamonds do not have claws, which allows for an easy to wear design, because the finish is smooth throughout the ring, since there are no claws to catch on anything. The band is dainty yet substantial enough for daily wear.  This vintage ring would make a perfect wedding ring, anniversary ring, gift. or addition to any fine jewelry collection.

History: The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
