The petals showcase two different shades, one being a cotton candy pink and the other a hot vibrant pink. The centre crystal is a beautiful aurora borealis crystal, displaying a variation of colors ranging from green, violet, orange, blue, and yellow. The brooch features a pin and secure rotary locking system. This vintage brooch would make a perfect gift or addition to any jewelry collection.
History: Origins. Originally, rhinestones were rock crystals gathered from the river Rhine, hence the name, although some were also found in areas like the Alps (the source of the Rhine). Today the name "rhinestone" applies only to varieties of lead glass known as crystal glass.
Aurora Borealis, commonly known as AB, is an effect which was jointly developed by Swarovski and Christian Dior in the 1950s. AB — a shimmering opal-like finish that truly enhances the beauty and sparkle of cut crystal — is the most popular effect within the Swarovski crystals product assortment.
