Signs Of Spring - Art Deco Sterling Silver Rhinestone Flower Bouquet Brooch. This lovely brooch is crafted from sterling silver, and a makers hallmark Van Dell. Featuring round cut and marquise cut Rhinestones, Art Deco designing and quality silver work. This lovely brooch is designed as a bouquet of flowers. The detail is exquisite and the rhinestones are bright, clear and shiny. The pin at the back of the brooch is in perfect working order with a secure closure. This Art Deco era brooch would make a wonderful gift for that special someone or addition for your jewelry collection.
Note: The Van Dell Corporation was founded in 1938 in Providence Rhode Island, which is still a jewelry hub to this day. The company manufactured well made sterling silver, gold filled and gold plated jewelry rather than more commonly made costume jewelry in base metal. This is one reason for the scarcity of the designs, since fine metal jewelry is not made in quantities that costume jewelry was made. The jewelry was of high quality and some pieces of jewelry sold for $65 or more in the 1960s. This would have been quite expensive for the time. This piece is a wonderful example of the fine quality jewelry made during the Art Deco / Retro period.
