Sleek & Modernistic - Vintage 10K White Gold Fancy Sapphire & Diamond Ring. This unique ring is crafted from 10K gold, hallmarked 10K and a makers mark.  Featuring one fancy cut synthetic sapphire, 6 natural round cut diamonds, classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gorgeous ring boasts a beautiful fancy cut deep blue synthetic sapphire (synthetic gemstones were often seen in Art Deco jewelry) which is flanked by sparkling diamonds. The style is sleek, and modernistic with an Art Deco/Retro feel. The band is beveled, which adds beauty and interest to the design. The shank is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. The Vintage ring looks wonderful when worn, truly a perfect ring for any occasion.

History: he earliest synthetic gems were Geneva Rubies, produced around 1885, and sold as authentic gems. However, they were actually "reconstituted" fragments of natural rubies melted together. While the creator of these stones remains a mystery, researchers traced their origins to Geneva, Switzerland.Jul 7, 2020

A synthetic gemstone is an exact replica of the real deal, right down to its atomic structure. Two gemstones that are commonly formed in a lab are cubic zirconia and moissanite. Both have identical compositions to their natural versions. They even have the same physical look and hardness as their natural twins.

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.

Although the origin of white color gold dates back to 1710, where it was discovered by two alchemists in Germany, it wasn't used widely until much later. White gold as we know it today was really popularised in the 1920s. Although it might seem strange, this luxury material came to popularity in wartime.
