Sorcerer's Stone - Estate Sterling Silver Mystic Quartz Filigree Ring. This lovely ring is crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked SS 925 for sterling silver. Featuring one round cut faceted mystic quartz (lab created), Edwardian styling, and quality craftsmanship. This pretty ring showcases a beautiful sparkling mystic quartz, displaying colors of green, yellow, purple, and pink. The gallery exhibits exquisite filigree work, and engraved shoulders. The shank is polished and smooth, which allows for a a comfortable fit, and easy sizing. This estate ring is in the Edwardian revival style, truly a wonderful ring for any collection.
History: Mystic quartz is quite a new gem type, first seen around 1998. It is natural colorless (white) quartz that has been coated, giving it a unique rainbow color effect. Therefore, it is not a gem type, but is an enhanced clear quartz.
Silver was first found in large amounts around 5000 BC, when prehistoric people dug the first copper mines. ... Large-scale silver mining had developed in Anatolia by 3000 BC. This was to meet the demand from the first ancient city states, which used the metal as a common medium of exchange.
