Sparkling Crescent Moon - Georgian 18K Rose Gold, Silver Rose Cut Diamond Pendant.  This exquisite pendant is crafted from 18K rose gold, sterling silver, tested and confirmed.  The chain is crafted from 14K white gold, Italy.  Featuring 13 natural rose cut diamonds, fine detail and quality gold and silver-work.  This dainty crescent moon is a wonderful find, a layer of rose gold with a silver gallery is adorned by expertly claw set sparkling rose cut diamonds. The original bale is made of rose gold with a couple of silver bales, allowing the piece to have nice movement. The pendant is small in scale, which make it perfect for day or evening wear. The lovely crescent moon has been matched up to a 14K white gold chain, which has a shimmer to it , picking up the shine of the precious rose cut diamonds. The chain is adjustable and can be worn from 18" -20".  These amazing pendants can also be worn on a bracelet or earring as a charm, such a versatile little piece indeed.  This Georgian era crescent  moon is a fantastic rare find, truly a treasure to be cherished and enjoyed for many years to come.

Note: You cannot look at rose cut diamond jewelry factually with a recut formula in mind, its value is object driven. Rose cuts are a greater challenge in estimating weight once they have been mounted (especially if they are closed back). These rose cut diamonds are hand cut, which makes them so special . This is a rare find.

The rose cut diamond setting has an open back ( a characteristic of late Victorian jewelry).

In 1953, GIA formally created its diamond grading system, known as the 4 C's. The 4 Cs of diamond quality are the universally recognized diamond grading system still to be used today.  1n 1955, GIA presented its first diamond grading reports, which became the hallmark of grading reports in the diamond industry. Before this time in antiquity clients did not care about diamond grading. It was based more so on the size of the diamonds ( according to budget) , style, and sentiment.  This ring is a wonderful example of the Victorian era, just beautiful!

In History of the United Kingdom, the Victorian era was the period of Queen Victoria's reign, from the 20th of June 1837 until her death on the 22nd of January 1901.
