Petit Point - Vintage 14k Gold Ruby Eternity Band Ring. This lovely ring is crafted from 14K yellow gold, hallmarked 14K, and a makers mark FERKOS. Featuring 50 natural round cut rubies, classic styling, and quality craftsmanship. This pretty ring is expertly claw-set with beautiful deep red vibrant rubies, which surround the entire ring. This type of ring is known as a full eternity ring, since the gems are set throughout the band. The inside of the ring is plain and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit. However this type of ring cannot be sized because of the gemstone surround. The vintage ring would make a perfect wedding ring, anniversary ring, or stacker. Such a charming ring!

History: Records suggest that rubies were traded along China's North Silk Road as early as 200 BC. Chinese noblemen adorned their armor with rubies because they believed the gem would grant protection. Burma has been a significant ruby source since at least 600 AD.

Gold was generally used for a couple thousand years solely to create things such as jewelry and idols for worship. This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
