Thor - Scarce Ancient Viking 8th-11th Century Silver Thor's Hammer & Chain.  These amazing artifacts are created from silver, tested.  Featuring a hand-made silver Thor's hammer, a handmade chain, amazing workmanship and style.  The Thor's hammer on this magnificent piece is forged and has a beautiful shape, and hand hammered pierced decoration. The chain consists of hand-made alternating double links. The chain was made from a Viking 8th-11th century breast plate. it was made into several chains,  and this happens to be one of the chains removed from the plate. The Thor's hammer has been matched up to the chain, the result is absolutely a magnificent. The necklace has such presence, it displays strength and a sense of power, however aesthetically beautiful. Thor's hammer displays a silvery soft aged patina, whilst the chain has a silver deeper patina. A contemporary bronzed double adjuster has been added to the piece, which allows the necklace to be worn in such away that adds style to the wonderful artifacts. The lobster claw clasps on the adjuster are durable and in perfect working order.  A photo of the original breast plate artifact is included with this necklace.  Thor's hammers of this calibre are rare, however to find an 8th-11th century chain is like finding a needle in a haystack. This amazing museum quality necklace is an investment piece that can be enjoyed and treasured for many years to come. It is truly my pleasure to offer this masterpiece to the lucky owner of these rare antiquities.

Note: In Norse mythology, Thor is the hammer-wielding god of thunder lightening, storms, oak trees , strength, hallowing , fertility, the production of mankind and the fortress of Asgard.
