Coeur d'or - Victorian French 18K Gold Heart Locket. This gorgeous locket is crafted from 18K gold, hallmarked with a French poinçon. The design and execution of this 18K gold locket epitomizes the beauty of French jewelry. It has a finely detailed bezel of pierced gold work, holding two faceted glass inserts. The patina is rich and original and the gold work smooth and finely finished.  The top of the locket unscrews and a photo can be inserted between the crystal glass if desired. I love it worn as seen, because it is simple and elegant. The size makes it perfect for day or evening wear. There are French gold guarantee stamps on the top screw and top loop. The locket has been matched up to a black cord, featuring a 14K gold clasp. This stunning Victorian era locket is truly an heirloom piece to be cherished and treasured for many years to come. 

Note: To open, place on a padded service and gently unscrew the top part below the bale. The gold frame will open up and allow the two glass pieces to come apart. A photo can be gently placed in-between the glass or left as is for a simple elegant look.  To put the piece back together, gently screw the top back on until snug. This wonderful locket is a rare find.
