Jewelry as Art - Victorian 18K Rose Gold Diamond & Pearl Ring. This gorgeous ring is crafted from 14K rose gold, tested. Featuring a genuine Old European Cut diamond, 2 genuine natural seed pearls, exquisite designing and workmanship. This early Victorian ring is beautifully articulated with a marquise detailed bezel and a gold panel inserted and hand wired inside the bezel with a expertly claw set diamond flanked by a seed pearl on each side. This ring is completely hand crafted and not casted as one piece, a wonderful example of the time and care that was put into early jewelry. The panel has a little bit of movement, however it is wired in securely and should not be soldered into place since this would ruin the design and integrity of this amazing piece of Victorian art. Hand wiring is a characteristic often seen in Georgian and Victorian pieces which should be appreciated and respected as a technique used and learned from Ancient times. The expertly set diamond is an Old European Cut, it is bright, white and sparkly, whist the two pearls are silvery grey in colour and luminous. The shoulders of this ring are fluted with a beautiful raised decoration, leading down to a smooth fluted shank. This ring looks extravagant, elegant and beautiful, truly a piece to be enjoyed and treasured for many years to come.
