Birks Extraordinaire - Victorian 14K Platinum Colour Change Sapphire. This stunning ring is crafted from 14K and platinum, hallmarked 585 and tested. There is a wonderful old Birks hallmark inside the circumference of the ring. Featuring a natural oval cut faceted colour change (untreated sapphire), 10 natural Old European cut diamonds, Victorian styling and quality gold and platinum work. The colour of this vibrant sapphire varies from a pinkish purple to a bluish violet colour depending on different light intensities. The expertly claw set sapphire is housed by a coronet gallery and surrounded by bright , white sparkling diamonds. The coronet gallery is unusual in the fact that it is crafted from 14K gold and platinum, a detail which adds even more beauty to the setting. The band is slightly tapered, polished, smooth and dainty, however still substantial and comfortable to wear. This rare heirloom Victorian era ring would make a perfect engagement ring, gift, or addition to any fine jewelry collection.
