Antique Rose - Victorian 18K Gold Dutch Rose Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring. This exquisite ring is crafted from 18K yellow & white gold, tested and confirmed. Featuring a natural Dutch Rose cut diamond, classic Victorian styling, and quality gold-work. The expertly claw set diamond is a beautiful Rose Cut diamond, which exhibits a soft glow (a characteristic of antique cut diamonds) as appose to the modern round brilliant cut , which display a blinding sparkle. The diamond is set in a coronet style gallery (open backed), which is a characteristic of late Victorian jewelry. It is crafted from white and yellow gold. The band is also made of yellow and white gold. It is slightly tapered with subtle engraved detail, leading down to a polished and smooth shank, which allows for a comfortable fit. Note: You cannot look at rose cut diamond jewelry factually with a recut formula in mind, its value is object driven. Rose cuts are a greater challenge in estimating weight once they have been mounted (especially if they are closed back). These rose cut diamonds are hand cut, which makes them so special . This is a rare find.
The rose cut diamond setting has an open back ( a characteristic of late Victorian jewelry).

Before this time in antiquity clients did not care about diamond grading. It was based more so on the size of the diamonds ( according to budget) , style, and sentiment. This ring is a wonderful example of the Victorian era, just beautiful!
