Flaming Heart - Rare Victorian French Provincial Silver Earrings. These precious earrings are crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked and confirmed. Featuring a rare French provincial design, hand etchings and quality silver work. These are quite amazing examples of French provincial earrings. They are mid 19th century and most likely from the Berry Region of France. They are unusual because finding examples of antique earrings in completely original condition, in a region where these are seldom found is what makes them rare. Truly like finding a needle in a haystack. They are beautiful in their lack of sophistication , and in their artistry. They are so charming and adds to the naive beauty. Each of the three part articulating sections is wonderful. The top is faceted, the centre is engraved and the bottom drops perfectly modelled. Each earring is hand engraved, etched with a flaming heart, the symbol of fidelity. Crosses from this period are more common, but finding flaming heart is a first. The condition is superb, and are in completely original condition. Light and easy to wear. Distinctive and lovely. There is a French Poiçon on the top right of the earrings. These are an extremely rare find, truly heirloom earrings to be treasured for many years to come.
