Victorian Goddess - Victorian Sterling Silver Classical Wedgwood Cameo Earrings. These lovely earrings are crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked and signed WEDGWOOD, MADE IN ENGLAND on the back of the cameos. Featuring two genuine Wedgwood cameo, Victorian styling, and quality gold-work. The expertly bezel set cameos showcases a beautiful fine white goddess playing a harp. The Classical goddess is wearing a graceful sheer dress, with her hair pulled up elegantly, and leaning against a pillar. This would most likely be designed from a goddess of Rome or Greece. The dramatic black and white cameo is set in a decorative frame of sterling silver. The earrings were originally fitted with screw back closures, however they have since been changed over to sterling silver ear wires for pierced ears, which allows for a comfortable fit. The original screw back fittings do come with the earrings. The Victorian era earrings looks stunning when worn, truly a piece to be treasured for many years to come.
Note: In the British history of the Victorian era was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from the 20th of June 1837 until her death on the 22nd of January 1901.
Wedgwood Jasper jewelry has many colours, styles and designs. Colours vary from pale blue to the darker portland, lemon, terracotta, green , black and the earlier mixed colours from the Georgian period.
