Victoriana - Victorian Gold Filled Ruby Paste & Seed Pearl Slide Chain. This wonderful Victorian slide chain is crafted from yellow and rose gold fill. Featuring two ruby paste antique cut gemstone, 11 faux seed pearls, Victorian era styling, and quality craftsmanship. The slide on this chain is square shaped and dimensional, which exhibits beautiful ornate detail.  It is adorned by glowing ruby paste gems, and luminous silvery grey/white pearls. The slide slides smoothly and sits perfectly on the chain. The chain is a substantial curb link design in rose gold, Whilst the slide is a rich yellow gold color. Which can be worn long or doubled up for a different look. There is a dog-clip at the end of the chain, which can be attached to your favorite pendants or lockets. History: Paste jewellery dates back to France during the 18th century when a jeweller named Georges Frederic Stras began hand crafting fine-quality Paste jewellery in 1724. He was quickly then appointed as “Jeweller to the King”, and began making Paste jewellery for King Louis XV of France.

The Victorian slide chain/bracelet was a fashion accessory formerly worn by many women in nineteenth century England. Before the creation of the wrist watch, Victorian women wore their time piece on a neck chain that stayed in place with a decorative station that supported the watch (just under it).
