Ceylon Sky - Vintage Platinum Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Ring. This gorgeous ring is crafted from platinum, hallmarked Pt 900 for platinum, and marked 1.62 and 0.12   for the carat weights of the sapphire and the diamonds. Featuring a natural oval cut faceted Ceylon sapphire, 2 natural baguette diamonds, 4 natural round brilliant diamonds, Vintage styling and quality craftsmanship. This Vintage ring boasts a beautiful sky blue Ceylon sapphire, which displays a violet/blue hue. Although the modern history of platinum only begins in the 18th century, platinum has been found in objects dating from 700 BC, in particular the famous Casket of Thebes (see image). ... The Spanish called this metal Platina, a diminutive of Plata, the Spanish word for silver.
