Vintage Sweet - Vintage 10K Gold Ruby & Diamond Ring. This lovely ring is crafted from 10K yellow hold, hallmarked 10K. Featuring a natural oval cut faceted ruby, 2 natural single cut diamonds, classic styling and quality craftsmanship. The expertly claw -set ruby displays a red colour with a pinkish/red hue, which is enhanced by a sparkling diamond on each side of the precious gemstone. The shoulders have a slight taper, and the band is polished and smooth, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. This Vintage ring is classic and soooo sweet. Truly a charming piece for any collection.

History: Rubies have been particularly prized in Asian countries. Records suggest that rubies were traded along China's North Silk Road as early as 200 BC. Chinese noblemen adorned their armor with rubies because they believed the gem would grant protection. Burma has been a significant ruby source since at least 600 AD.

The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.
