Skies The Limit - Estate Art Deco Revival Sterling Silver Blue Topaz & Pearl Ring.  This gorgeous ring is crafted from sterling silver, hallmarked 925 for sterling.  Featuring an emerald cut blue topaz, 4 genuine seed pearls, Art Deco styling, and quality craftsmanship. The focal point of this ring is a beautiful sky blue topaz, flanked by pearls, which is surrounded by an exquisite gallery of pierced-work and engravings of scrolls and foliage. The pearls are white, with a silvery overtone. The shank is smooth and polished, which allows for a comfortable fit and easy sizing. The Estate ring is a statement piece, which looks fantastic when worn. So stunning!

History: In mythology, topaz is portrayed as a gem of peace and healing. It was first found by the Romans over two millennia ago on the Island of Topazios in the Red Sea. They believed it could protect its wearer from enemies and bring reconciliation.

Silver's history is long. The first evidence of silver mining dates back to 3000 B.C., in Turkey and Greece, according to the RSC. Ancient people even figured out how to refine silver. They heated the silver ore and blew air over it, a process called cupellation.

Pearls were presented as gifts to Chinese royalty as early as 2300 BC, while in ancient Rome, pearl jewellery was considered the ultimate status symbol. So precious were the spherical gems that in the 1st century BC, Julius Caesar passed a law limiting the wearing of pearls only to the ruling classes.
