Catch A Wave - Vintage German 8K Gold Cubic Zirconia Ring. This sweet ring is crafted from 8K yellow gold, hallmarked 333 (European hallmark for 8K gold). The ring features 10 round cut cubic zirconia gemstones, vintage styling, and quality craftsmanship. The gallery on this ring is comprised of two raised waves of gold, which are adorned by sparkling gemstones. The band is dainty, yet solid for daily wear. History: Cubic zirconia was invented in Russia in the 1970s as a diamond alternative for use in laser technology. Later, the jewelry industry started using CZ because of its sparkle and brilliance, which are similar to diamonds.

This was until around 1500 BC when the ancient empire of Egypt, which benefited greatly from its gold-bearing region, Nubia, made gold the first official medium of exchange for international trade.
