George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert) June 3 1865 - January 20 1936) was the King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India, from May 6, 1910 until his death in 1936.
The history of Rubies is a story rich in splendour and mystery. These precious gems have been mentioned in the Bible, worn by royalty throughout human history, and beloved to protect ancient warriors in battle. They have been thought to act as a talisman for peace and a promise of wisdom and health for the holder.
The earliest diamonds were found in India in 4th century BC, although the youngest of all these deposits were formed 900 million years ago. A majority of these early stones were transported along the network of trade routes that connected India and China, commonly known as the Silk Road.
