Elegance & Sentiment - Victorian 9K Rose & Yellow Gold Chased Locket Pendant. This lovely locket is crafted from 9K rose gold and yellow gold,  hallmarked 375 (British Hallmark) for 9K gold, a makers mark of S & O Chester mark , and a letter date of 1892.  Featuring exquisite chased detail,  full hallmarks , rose and yellow gold, Victorian styling and quality workmanship.  The locket is round in shape displaying a central rose gold polished and smooth finish, which is framed by a yellow gold chased border.  The pendant is adorned by a beautiful scroll surmount , which is attached to the original bale.  The locket back to back locket which is crafted out of 9K and metal, adding durability and strength to the piece, a characteristic of Victorian lockets. The inside of the locket is complete with frames and plastic liners.  The locket has a lip, in which your fingernail (tools should not be used, incase you slip and scratch the locket) can gently slip in and it can be opened. This locket opens and closes well and will snap closed.  When closing a locket, it is always wise to close them on the border edge and not the central part of the locket. Gold is soft and the borders of these lockets are strengthen by metal frames for opening and closing the locket.  The pendant has been matched up to a 14K gold filled chain, with a spring ring clasp in perfect working order. This lovely locket can be worn with a yellow gold chain or a rose gold chain since its is comprised of both coloured golds.  This special Victorian treasure is charming, elegant and beautiful.  truly a perfect gift or addition to any fine jewelry collection.
