Pounamu In Retro - Art Deco Retro 14K Jade Ring. This gorgeous ring is crafted from 14K white gold, hallmarked 14K WG. Featuring a genuine natural oval cabochon jade (Most likely Pounamu jade from New Zealand) high quality workmanship and Retro styling. The expertly double claw set jade has a lovely mossy green colour. The cabochon is smooth and in remarkable condition. This wonderful ring is handmade, and masterfully crafted. The gallery is fine and delicate, and the beautiful pierced work is quite extraordinary. The ring is simple and elegant, and the workmanship is very high quality. The shank is dainty, however still substantial for daily wear. This Art Deco/ Retro era ring is a very fine example ofa beautifully hand made treasure of times past. Truly a wonderful collectors piece, or addition to any fine jewelry collection.

Note: Pounamu or "greenstone" in New Zealand English are several types of hard and durable stone found in southern New Zealand. They are highly values by the Māori, and objects made from pounamu play an important role in Māori culture. Most likely this particular jade was exported from New Zealand to Europe where the ring was made.
