Devotion & Sentiment Victorian 9K Gold Engraved Enamel Locket. This lovely locket is crafted from 9K yellow gold,  tested and confirmed 9K. Featuring quality gold-work , traditional styling and exquisite engraving.  The locket is oval shaped with beautiful engraving on the front and back of the piece. The front of the locket displays a beautiful black enamelled cross with etched engravings. There is a scalloped design around the cross and more engravings of etchings and scrolls. The border has a smooth polished finish.  The back is also engraved with a central motif , surrounded by a  very fine and delicate patten of engraving. The central motif features a stylized polished shield shape emblem where a monogram or initial can be engraved if desired. There is a lot of meaning in Victorian lockets, the cross representing faith and the shield on the back of the locket represents protection the photos of loved ones inside the locket. The colour of this locket is a soft rose gold colour and not a bright yellow gold. The inside of the locket is complete with both of its framed glass protectors ( hard to find original complete glass inserts still intact). The locket is a back to front locket which is crafted from 9K solid gold and metal,  a characteristic of Victorian lockets, which adds strength and durability to the locket. The beautiful antique locket is solid and substantial. It has a gentle closure, designed without a lip (meaning does not "snap"closed) so it rather opens and closes gently. The locket does not open and close unless both sides are pulled apart or pushed back together manually. The locket has been matched up to a 14K gold fill belcher chain.  This glorious Victorian piece looks stunning when worn, truly a piece to be treasured and enjoyed for many years to come.

Note: The engraving on this locket is fine, and the enamel cross is in pristine condition. Beautiful unique piece.
