Boucher Classic - Vintage Marcel Boucher Gold Plated Cultured Pearl Brooch. This wonderful brooch is crafted from a gold plate over a base metal. Featuring a genuine cultured pearl. retro styling, and quality craftsmanship, signed BOUCHER. The brooch has a circular shape, and showcases nice detailing. It is sleek and elegant, with a wonderful Cartier feel. Not surprising considering that Boucher trained under Cartier before starting his own business in 1937. The brooch is simple in design, it exhibits some wonderful different textures, such as satiny gold brushing, a high polish, and a fluted pattern. The beautiful brooch is also adorned by a beautiful genuine champagne coloured pearl. The pin on the back is secured by a lock mechanism in perfect working order. This modernistic Vintage brooch is classic and so beautiful, and will add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.
Marcel Boucher (1898–1965) was a French jeweller. In the early 1920s, he moved to New York City, where he developed a passion for jewellery design, studying under Pierre Cartier as an apprentice. By the 1930s, he was working for Mazer Brothers. In 1937 he oped his own business.
